WHAT TO DO
BEFORE GETTING A TATTOO?
For the best possible result, choosing a trusted professional is important, but there are also a few precautions you should take before your tattoo session.
Avoid Sun Exposure Before Your Session
Sunburned skin can make the tattooing process more difficult and increase sensitivity.
Keep Your Skin Hydrated:
Mantenha a pele bem hidratada nas semanas anteriores à tatuagem para facilitar o trabalho do tatuador.
Avoid Alcohol and Drugs:
Avoid alcohol and drugs for at least 24 hours before your session, as they may affect healing and blood clotting.
Get a Good Night’s Sleep:
Arrive well rested, as tattoo sessions can be long and require stamina.
Eat a Proper Meal:
Eat a proper meal before your tattoo session to help prevent dizziness or a drop in blood pressure.
Tell Your Tattoo Artist About Any Medical Conditions:
If you have allergies, skin conditions, or any other medical condition, let your tattoo artist know beforehand to help prevent complications.
ESSENTIAL TATTOO AFTERCARE
Here are the essential aftercare steps that can
make a big difference during the healing process.
01
Keep Your
Tattoo Protected:
Keep the protective film applied by your tattoo artist in place for 2 to 4 hours, or for the amount of time recommended by your artist.
02
Clean It
properly:
Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid scrubbing or using sponges. Pat it dry gently with a clean towel.
03
Use Appropriate
Moisturizing Products:
Apply an aftercare product recommended by your tattoo artist and avoid products containing alcohol or fragrances.
04
Avoid Sun
Exposure and Swimming:
Avoid direct sunlight and do not soak the tattoo in pools, the ocean, or bathtubs for at least two weeks.
05
Do Not Scratch or
Pick at Scabs:
Scabbing is a normal part of healing. Do not pick at the scabs, as this may damage the tattoo and cause scarring.
06
Wear Comfortable
Clothing:
Choose loose, lightweight clothing that will not rub against the tattoo while it heals.
07
Avoid Intense
Physical Activity:
Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating or friction on the tattooed area during the first few days.
08
Stay Hydrated
and Eat Well:
Staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet can support skin recovery and the healing process.
